I have setup a free live online streaming police scanner. you can listen to it in your internet browser.

http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/?feedId=3836

I have Northport, Tuscaloosa, U of A, Northstar, and Alabama State Troopers programmed in the scanner.

thought this may be interesting for Tuscaloosa/Northport Residents who want to keep  up on what is going on in the area.

That's Awesome Robert. An easy way to do it also is to go to http://audio2.radioreference.com:80/834107942.mp3. I couldn't get it to work in firefox at first but did in ie with bad echo. I wound up browsing to the above url in ff and windows media player picked it up without the echo. it got its own playlist. hahahaha.

Super sweet info here.

Thank you for your contributions and welcome to the area

the scanner is down and will not return. i am moving to denver and have canceled my internet and cable tv.

while i have limited internet via wireless it is not enough to continue the stream.

and if that is not bad enough don't waste your time on a digital scanner as there have been reports of testing in P25 digital and DES Encryption. if these reports are true like the TCSO they will be full digital and encryption which means there will be no more monitoring of the T-Town PD in Tuscaloosa.

Note: TCFD and TFD are both digital and unencrypted. it seems to be only PD testing encryption. I have not heard of any testing of encryption on FD channels.

Ahh, ok...I thought it was for a change of scenery. I want to go back to Denver one day. I went once a long time ago and it was beautiful.
